March playlist,Vinyl haul/Giveaway!

Hello everyone, I am back with another one of my favorite posts and that is a monthly playlist/ Vinyl haul. Today, however, I am also going to be doing a giveaway of all my digital download codes, information on that will be at the end of the post.

James Blunt/The Afterlove (Album)

This is an album I really didn’t expect to like. James Blunt has never really caught my attention, however, this is something special. He has tried something really different here and I think it has really worked for him. In fact, when listening to some of the album I couldn’t help but imagine a boy band singing them especially with songs like ‘Love me better’ and ‘Lose my number’. I like that this album is maybe going to pull in a younger audience due to these songs that are then going to fall in love with the rest of the album. A lot of amazing people worked on this album including Ed Sheeran, Amy Wadge, and Ryan Tedder so it’s just amazing to hear such a huge amount of musical talent and passion going into this album.

Kasabian/You’re in love with a psycho(single)

This song is the lead single from the band’s upcoming album ‘For crying out loud’ and I’m obsessed with it. However, I feel the hype is going to be very short-lived as the track doesn’t have much substance. By this, I just mean that it’s not a song I see myself appreciating in a year’s time. It’s a nice light and catchy summer tune so I am just enjoying it while it lasts.

21 gun Salute/ Stormzy ft Wretch 32 (track)

After I wrote my Why I hate grime. post back in December I tried Grime again and I still couldn’t bring myself to like it, however, Stormzy released his debut album ‘Gang signs and Prayers’ last month. I thought I better give it a listen as I can’t say anything negative about it before actually listening to it. Not to my surprise, I hated a lot of it but one song stood out to me, and that was ’21 gun salute’. This song features Wretch 32, an artist I have a lot of respect for and have been a fan of for a long while now. I enjoy this song as it actually has some lyrical depth to it which is something I feel grime lacks the majority of the time.

That is it for the downloads, now onto the fun part… Vinyl

Ed Sheeran- Divide Deluxe boxset.

This is my favorite vinyl that I own. Instead of having the lyric booklet separate from the vinyl this one puts it all into one. It also came with a Cd, digital download, and necklace. I reviewed the album here: Divide Review

Two door cinema club-Gameshow Deluxe edition.

This has been on my vinyl wishlist since its release back in October. What sets the deluxe vinyl apart from the standard one is this is pressed on blue translucent vinyl and comes with an exclusive holographic cover and gatefold. You also get a little goodie with this one in the form of a 7′ record two deluxe tracks ‘Gasoline’ and ‘sucker’. This is a stunning album presented in such a beautiful way.Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Michael Kiwanuka- Love & hate.

Such a soulful album, music like this is a rarity in a modern music world where the chart is dominated by dance track after dance track. It’s a real slow burner with the relaxing 10-minute opener ‘Cold little heart’. This is definitely an album I urge you to pick up on vinyl, its reduced right now in HMV. It’s soul at its finest.

The vinyl itself if your typical gatefold LP.

I finally got round to buying it, after over a year of debating with myself over the price I went out and bought it with my birthday money. It is pressed on clear vinyl and it is just beautiful, I can’t believe I put off buying it for so long. The sleeves have the lyrics printed and the gatefold shows all the artwork for the tracks. 1975 are well known for their amazing aesthetic and that’s clearly shown with the effort put into making this record something special.
