Hi guys, I am back today to share with you all my Artist of the week. This week’s artist may just be one of my favourites I have ever mentioned in this series.
Today I’m going to talk to you about a band named ‘The Amazons’, they formed in Reading back in 2014 and is made up of Matt, Chris, Elliot and Joe.
They released their self-titled debut album four weeks ago and it shot straight into the Uk top 10. They have gained a lot of attention from highly respected outlets such as MTV, NME and BBC Radio 1.
I went and bought the album on vinyl the day it was released and it has barely left my turntable since. I was also super excited as when I opened it to my surprise it was pressed on clear vinyl, it’s stunning, I definitely recommend picking up a copy of it on vinyl if you can.
I have also been fortunate enough to have seen them twice in the last couple of weeks. The first being at Banquet Records in Kingston, they did an acoustic set and a signing, they were all super nice. Like I have said before I love it when artists are genuinely nice and down to earth people and this definitely is the case with this band.
I was also very fortunate to have been invited to attend the recording of their MTV live stage last week at the Excel exhibition centre. It was such an amazing thing to have been a part of, and despite being super intimate the atmosphere was mad. Unfortunately, we were able to take pictures or record any of it, which sucked but It’s going to be on telly anyway so I can watch it back on there.
I am also going to book my tickets soon to go and see them again later this year which I am really excited about.
If you haven’t already checked out The Amazons then I really recommend that you do because they are so fantastic, here are all the links you will need.
I really hope you enjoyed reading this post, I really love writing my artist of the week posts, You also may have noticed I haven’t been posting as much, that is because I am currently working on a very long post that I’m really excited to be sharing with you this week. I love you all, see you in my next post, byeeee.
