Made of Eyes/ Artist of the week 26/07/17

Hello everybody, today I am back with the latest in my ‘Artist of the week’ series. Of course, this series is the one where I share with you an artist I have been loving over the past week in less than 400 words. I’m happy to say this week’s artist is a lovely little band from Glasgow called ‘ Made of eyes’

I was made aware of this band when they followed me on Twitter, whenever a band follows me on social media I always take the time to listen to their music and it’s all very hit or miss but ‘Made of eyes’ are definitely a fantastic find.

They are a four piece alternative pop/rock band from Glasgow whose debut Ep ‘Bonds’ was released back in January.

The band describe the Ep as having ‘Many influences’ and they are apparent, I got some serious The 1975 vibes especially from the opening track ‘Brickwork’. At moments throughout I also heard hints of what reminded me of Kings of Leon and even cigarettes after sex in the more ambient moments. However, they have created a perfect blend of uniqueness and influences which have resulted in an outstanding EP. I think I will even go as far as saying my it’s my favourite debut EP of 2017 so far.

I cannot wait to see what this and do next they are without a doubt destined for greatness. I’d love to catch a show of theirs when they are next in London.

I really hope that I have persuaded you to give them a listen, below I will have linked all the bands’ socials and most importantly where you can catch the debut EP of the year.
