Nina Nesbitt// Artist of the week 15/01/2018

Hello everybody, today I am back with the latest in my ‘Artist of the week’ series. Of course, this series is the one where I share with you an artist I have been loving over the past week in less than 400 words. I’m happy to say this week’s artist of the week is the fantastic Nina Nesbitt.

Nina Nesbitt is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland. She rose to fame after uploading videos of herself singing both original tracks and covers recorded in her bedroom to her youtube channel. Her unique blend of modernist pop with R&B-tinges makes for the perfect backing for her emotionally penned lyrics.

To date, she has released eight EP’s along with her Debut solo album Peroxide that charted in the UK top 15. She has toured with Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Little mix to name a few and has built a really loyal supportive fanbase.

After almost a year without releasing music, Nina returned with the beautifully delicate track ‘Moments I’m Missing’  in July of 2017 the track featured Canadian singer/rapper Goody Grace. In the tracks commentary, Nina describes it being written the point in her life where she was stuck in between record deals and her strive to become an artist and not just a songwriter for others. This track saw Nina hit the celebration-worthy milestone of 2 million monthly Spotify listeners. The follow-up single ‘The Best you had’ is an epic middle finger up to an ex that attracted considerable mainstream attention even featuring on Chloë Grace Moretz and Taylor Swift’s public ‘Favourite tracks’ playlists.

The latest single ‘Somebody special’ was released just last week and was written in Nashville and is described as ‘A love song with a twist’ Its smooth airy instrumentals complements Ninas melt in your mouth vocals perfectly.  Talking about her recent release Nina says ‘Somebody Special is about when you’ve been feeling a bit low and then you meet this person who changes everything,”
