Hello everybody, today I am back with the latest in my ‘Artist of the week’ series. Of course, this series is the one where I share with you an artist I have been loving over the past week in less than 400 words. I’m happy to say this week’s artist of the week is singer-songwriter sensation Vance Joy.

Vance Joy is a multi-Platinum singer-songwriter hailing from Melbourn Australia, growing up around music he learnt to play the trio of ukulele guitar piano as well as experimenting with songwriting.

Releasing his debut EP ‘God Loves You When You’re Dancing’ in early 2013 taking the scene by storm introducing everyone to his unique indie folk-driven sound.

This EP along with his debut album ‘Dream Your life away’ included the track of his you are probably most familiar with the massive hit that is ‘Riptide’ it went 2x platinum here in the UK landing a spot in the top 10 singles chart and picking up the attention of many including the likes of Taylor Swift who covered the track  invited him out to support her on her 2014 tour.

After going quiet for a bit and taking a well-deserved break Vance has returned announcing the release of his upcoming album ‘Nation of two’ that is set for release on the 23rd of this month. He has released two promotional singles ‘We’re going home’ and ‘Saturday sun’.

Both tracks demonstrate his delicately beautiful songwriting talent as well as his ability to layer and build the instrumentals. ‘We’re going home’ is my personal favourite of the two, I feel that the way it progresses and evolves upon itself is really powerful.

Vance’s second studio album ‘Nation of two’ is set to be released on the 23rd of February on Atlantic records, you can pre-order on his official website HEREC1ABCkGbhNS._SL1000_
