Stains of a sunflower// Artist of the week 7/03/2018

Hello everybody, today I am back with the latest in my ‘Artist of the week’ series. Of course, this series is the one where I share with you an artist I have been loving over the past week in less than 400 words. I’m happy to say this week’s artist of the week is Boston based four piece Stains of a sunflower.

The band is made up of founding members frontwoman Natalie Renee and drummer Shade Tramp before guitarist Alex and bassist Dan joined in 2015.

To put their sound in a nutshell I’d describe it as a confidently delivered unique modern twist on the classic elements of 60’s and 70’s folk. Their tracks are just a dream to listen to and to date they have released their debut self-titled album on their very own record label. It’s hard for me to pick a favourite from this, however, if I had to pick I would say I absolutely adore the opening track ‘Starlight’ the vocals are just perfectly rich and powerful,

Despite only having released 4 tracks into the world their extraordinarily fresh yet nostalgic sound is already well established and mastered, and this EP is just the start for these guys.

They have got an upcoming US tour that if you have the chance to you should definitely go along, I know I will be catching a show when they come over here, all the dates are below with links to purchase tickets.
