One of my ultimate favourite artists on the scene right now the one and only Rory Wynne is back with his latest dreamy single ‘The Next Day’
Soaked in shoegazy drenched vibes Wynne carries over the fresh relaxed glow that we were blessed with on his previous release ‘Getting over you’ which heard him slightly changing up his sound from the slightly grittier edgy pop we heard on his debut self titled album.
Commenting on the tracks origins Rory said “I love this song, it’s so simple, so fun to play and such an earworm. I think I wrote the overall vibe in like 10 minutes then recorded it the next day and that’s when it really took shape and became a proper song. It’s a really basic production too and I even used the vocals from my rough demo on the final version because there was a quality to them that I liked.”
Feel good yet with slightly soul-stirring lyrisiam of spending time with someone and then not getting a call from them the next day, all the feelings get rolled up to make this track what it is. Talking himself on the lyrics of the track Rory said ‘“I think everybody can relate to this song – it’s that all-too-familiar story. And that’s what I like in a song, when I play it live you can see that look of recognition in the crowd and it’s great that we’re all united in that way and by the last chorus… we’re all in this together.”
You can hear him play this track and all his other tunes during his 4 day Manchester residency next month! Some really cool supports as well so grab a ticket: www.seetickets.com/event/rory-wynne
