My favourite Irish band on the scene The Academic are back following the release of their hugely successful debut album ‘Tales from the backseat’ that dropped in January of last year.
‘AFTERTASTE’ sits soaked in 80’s esque synth-infused goodness intertwined with chirpy indie rock sensibilities. These guys have got the infectiously catchy formula perfected and their ability to constantly drop music demonstrating that never fails to amaze me.
Speaking of the formation of the track frontman Craig Fitzgerald commented “When it came to ‘Aftertaste’ it was a lot different to how we worked before. From a production standpoint we were a lot more involved. Sometimes there is a preconceived notion out there that if you are a guitar band, you should be in a particular lane. Our mindset when writing is less defined by what the stereotype of an indie band should sound like and be more about letting our songs be the best they can be|”
Well I truly belive this track couldn’t be better! A new chaper is coming for these guys and I couldn’t be more excited.
