Hi guys, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted on here, apologies. I’ve been super busy and I’m here to let you know why…
Since I started collecting records about 7 years ago now it’s always been my dream to own my very own store.
There are very few female owned record stores in the U.K. and there are certainly none run by a 20 year old, I want to change that and create a welcoming and safe environment for anyone who loves music. This would make me the youngest record store owner in the UK!!!
I’ve been working ridiculously hard for the past 4 months, viewing properties, creating business plans, exploring my funding options and I’m happy to say that I’m in a position where my options are open. One of the ways I’m looking to raise money is through a Kickstarter campaign, I’ve got plenty of different rewards on there, I think there’s some pretty cool ones.
Lucy’s Player (LP) will be a record and music gift store in East Grinstead stocking a mix of new and used records of all genres as well as music merchandise and quicky gifts. It’ll support and stock the music of local musicians and help to develop a community acting as a hub for all things music.
Even if you don’t want to or can’t donate a share helps just as much, indie stores are such a huge part of the industry so any support to add another to the list would be amazing!
